Eshopps Sump Question

I have an Eshops sump I’m going to use. My question is do I need bulk head fittings in the return holes or can I just drop the pvc drains into the holes. I will extend them down into the sump. Pretty much a straight shot down. One will be used for main drain and one for emergency drain.

As far as I know the bulk heads should not be needed. That said, you may get salt creep from splashing/bubbles popping at the surface. . . may not be an issue though.

Also unions will help with the maintenance side of things
