Boy you're fast! That's what it was sold to me as but I haven't found anyone on the web that looks like this one. Plus, they are described as having milky-white tips, which this doesn't.

OK, I'll take your word for it. ;) So you think this is one of those cool ones? (I sure do!)

Here's another one I got yesterday at the swap:
GiantGreenCandycane.jpg

These polyps are huge, the largest is about 2+" across. Just another species of candycane?

candycane for sure, I have seen galaxia like that before yes and I would for sure consider it one of the "cool" ones, I also saw one a long time ago that had some true orange in it-they are all comming in green and brown these days, good pick up

That's why I wasn't sure of the ID. All the pics I'm seeing are of boring-looking corals. I'm really thrilled w/this one & have the perfect spot, where it can't sting anyone.

Yep, watch the sweepers... Mine will have several at a time, and they can get twice as long as the coral itself from edge to edge... LMK when you frag it! I'd trade you soemthing for a piece. Just be careful of the corallites, they are really delicate.

As far as that "candycane" above, I'm thinking it's not. I've been looking at the Lobophyllia hemprichii or some other kind of Lobo.

Anyone know how rare this kind of lobo is? Folks are asking for frags of it but maybe I should jut let it grow for a while. Certainly don't want to sell it off like a candycane.

The second one is a branching lobophyllia. I have had one for going on 8 years. They are extremely hardy! I did sell one frag at the CMAS swap, but it didn't have anything like the color on that one. Good purchase!
Oh, the galaxia (if thats what it is) is awesome!

Do you have a pic of yours? I'd love to see how big it gets. Guess I got really lucky at the swap! I almost passed this one up. The Galaxea was almost purchased by someone else but I asked for it a second before the other guy.

Lobophyllia sp.

Also, let us know if the "galaxea" frag has sweepers...that should help with a positive Id...Sweet coral!
