Has anyone tried to experiment with this? I ripped a few of the floss pieces I had to spread out the surface area and make it more inviting so copepods could use it as a haven. I'm not here to hear "Use macro algae" I just want to hear people's thoughts or people who tried to experiment with using filter floss in a refugium to establish a pod population.

you could, but it'll become pretty grimy and clogged pretty fast. A little pile of rubble rock would work just as well, I'd think.
