Hi Everyone,

Tank has been up and running for nearly 3 weeks and was just reading that alot of people ditch the filter sponge?

My tank is only 15 gallons and worry if I ditch it that I will lose alot of my bacteria?

What's everyone's opinion on what I should do?

On a saltwater tank, the bacteria is on all the rocks, thats why we keep rocks in our tank. No need for the sponge, it just collects dirt.

Just grow it: Have you ever added CO2 to your reef tank?
