- Always quarantine your fish before adding them to your display tank.
- Always dip your coral for parasites and bacteria infections.
- Any adjustments in your tank if it’s lighting temperature chemistry levels in the water do them in slow increments.
- Never dip clams or anemones
- One person solution in there tank isn’t necessarily gonna work for you.
- Build your tank around a budget that works for you.
- Do your own research.
- it’s never a bad idea to have newly mixed salt water on hand in case of an emergency.
- Know, that specific fish need specific surface and water, volume/area to swim.
- Know, your media and uses activated carbon ,GFO ,ceramic media etc.
- No, your equipment, reactors, protein,skimmers, chaeto reactor etc
- Do you have a plan if power goes out for long periods of time?
- Stick to a routine on maintenance no matter what direction you choose to go
- Patience nothing good comes fast in this hobby.
- Do not have inexperienced people watch your reef
