Fish got stuck in corner of bag on the way home

I just got home after purchasing a couple Talbots damsels and one of them got stuck in the corner of the bag on the way home (I forgot to ask them to tape the corners) and now it’s swimming in circles

Is there anything I can do to help the poor little guy? The LFS I got them from just closed so I can’t call them

I would say still fallow the acclimation process and get them in the tank. Keep an eye and for sure contact the LFS tomorrow if something goes wrong.

Thank you, that’s what I thought as well. I just feel terrible watching it go around and around not being able to swim straight

It’s a damsel... they survive nuclear wars. Acclimate properly and turn off lights let it settle in peace and feed in the morning.

Like everyone else said, this is pretty normal. Just think about it. Little guy is put in a bag after being yanked from one home and then placed in another. Most likely the little thing is freaked out and just needs time to relax. Like people said let it be, keep light low, observe, and give it time to get used to it’s new home.

Not yet, they closed literally 2min before I had the chance. I’ll have to call tomorrow. I feel so bad, this is truly the hardest part of owning pets

I would suggest laying the bag on its side moving forward. Eliminates the need to tape corners

Do your best to give the fish as minimal stress as possible.

Continue with a full drip acclimation, keeping an eye specifically on that one damsel. You do not want the damsel to get stressed to the point it can get sick. Are you planning on quarantining your fish?
