They are very difficult fish . Hard to get to eat and require optimal water conditions
Best in a very mature tank. Beautiful they are but a risk for survival

Actually, recently I’ve been hearing a lot more success stories. They are actually hearty fish if they are eating. I purchased a trio online (not DD) about 6 months ago. All 3 began eating Masstick on day 1 and quickly added Panta Rhei Polyp and Panta Rhei Sponge pellets. Now they eat frozen, flake, pellets, Masstick, I even saw one pull a tiny worm from a rock once. They also arrived in excellent condition, no evidence of starvation. Perhaps collecting practices have improved and new more palatable food options are making these fish more suitable to aquarium life.
