My foxface has a really big spot on him. It was not there yesterday. I did notice some skinned marks on one side a few weeks but it seemed to heal well. I'm not sure if it is ich or something else so I need some help. Also I used fluconazole a few days ago to try to get rid of bubble algae. I used the 20 mg per gal dose

It's very difficult to tell much from the photo. Can you get a clearer one? I don't see any signs of ich on him, but that lump there looks more like an absess or possibly and injury that has some swelling involved.

You can try dosing Epsom salt into your tank (it's reef safe) to help reduce the swelling.

do you dose and measure your magnesium levels?
Epsom salt is basically magnesium sulfate and will increase your magnesium levels.

the link below is a calculator.

I personally would not go above 1550ppm as some people reported inverts not doing well above such a level

cheers

Looks sorta like an infection is developing, but I cannot tell for sure from the photos.

This is the dosage for treating swelling. No, I"m sorry the picture is exactly the same as the first - kinda.
Epsom Salt: Treats eye and other injuries. Popeye in one eye usually means injury, but popeye in both eyes usually denotes a bacterial infection requiring antibiotic treatment. Cloudy eye can be a bacterial infection or flukes.

How To Treat - 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons of aquarium water. Repeat only once, if necessary. Use only “USP” grade Epsom salt.

Pros - Reef safe, as Epsom salt is just magnesium sulfate.

Cons/Side Effects - The effects of excessive sulfate in a reef aquarium are not fully known.

I will try to get a better picture tomorrow. What treatment would u recommend?

If it is, in fact, an infection, then antibiotics: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/antibiotics.283711/

The tricky part here is rabbitfish have an incredibly thick mucous coat with a strong serum to boot. No telling how that might be reacting to the fluconazole, which I believe is an anti-fungal agent. o_O

Ugh hit the wrong button. I'll read the antibiotics link. Should I put the carbon reactor back online?

I probably would, to pull the fluconazole out. I'm surprised you're even seeing bubble algae with a Foxface in your tank.
