How do you all frag your zoa colonies on big rocks? I plan on breaking down one of the colonies and got most of the small pieces off a huge rock using a coral cutter but cant get the huge mat of zoas on the rock? is there a way to break the rock w/o hurting the zoas?

I use a scalpal to scrape the zoas off the rocks and the superglue them down. give it a week or 2 and they'll be healed over the super glue

do you scrape the zoa mat off the rock or do you scrape a thin slice of the rock ?

when I frag, I usually just get the mat. no rock. and then put a glob of superglue and stick the zoa/paly into the glue. it's worked for me. I do get some that end up dieing, but that's the life of fragging.

i will second the diamond laser band saw. I just got one this past weekend and i am kicking myself for nothaving one sooner. makes fragging just about any coral super easy and offers great control.

If it can be removed from the tank, it will be cut with a diamond bandsaw at my house, too. Too easy on every coral I've tried, and very low stress.
