I would like to get this fragged. I myself have never done it. I would also like to sell part of it. Does anyone have an idea what I should put as pricing. Again I still want it. It is just getting bigger than I wouldlike.
Duncans are pretty simple to frag. You just want to cut/break the apart at the base area. Not cutting or splitting apart the heads themselves.
The $ value of the heads is going to depend on how bright the color is of the Duncans and where you live. If you live in a highly populated area with lots of reefers local then Duncans being easy growers will be of less value.
The other thing you could do is pay it forward. As you trim the colony down to the size you want cut off individuals or pairs of head to shape the final piece you want to keep as you like. And then post on a local forum or club board that you have free Duncan's heads available for those starting up new reef tanks.
While this doesn't put any $$ in your pocket, it does help people that have just invested heavily to get into the hobby a chance to get a really hardy, captive raised coral to start their coral journey with - without hitting their bank account. It also might introduce you to a bunch of reefers in your area you weren't aware of to make friends with and trade corals with for many years to come.
