Freshwater PO4 aborsbers used in a reef tank? What are the downsides?

Hey,

I found recent AF product - Anti Phosphate - https://aquaforest.eu/freshwater/products/af-anti-phosphate/
It's relatively light color, so it does not seem to be a ferric hydroxide related as most of reef dedicated products are.

I wonder - what could be the ingredient and why isn't it dedicated to saltwater aquariums? Obviously, it's price is significantly lower than any reef counterparts, which makes it quite attractive if the efficiency and safety are worth the hassle.

I don't know what material it is, so I cannot say if it is suitable or effective in seawater. Some binders will not work in seawater but will work in fresh water where there is much less competition from chloride and sulfate.

Maybe it is aluminum oxide like phosguard, or maybe it is like the old zeolite material that Albert Thiel used to sell, or something else.
