Our youngest son is wanting to setup a freshwater shrimp tank. Anyone have experience with these?

Hey friend yes Sir doing well I added a second kessil to hit the brain coral from the side it’s growth caused shading and receding

I painted half the leds in liquid electrical tape to block lighting, less algae

I really enjoy the size referencing there! Wow, such a neat size. I believe the smallest display I once setup was an 8 liter marine with sexy shrimp and softies. I miss such a low maintenance system, I remember watching those little fellas for hours, capturing video and photo's.

Photo' #2
Did you custom fabricate that lighting arm? It looks really neat, I haven't seen something like that come with an aquarium before. Is it submerged inside the display or is it attached to the back of the glass on the exterior? It is difficult to see, but I'm quite curios!

*****EDIT*****
I see the arm now, in one of the earlier photo's. That looks really interesting. Where did you come up with that, a custom design or a purchase?

Photo' #3
What is that white debris on the bottom left of the display edge? Food, eggs, sand or some sort of substrate?

Photo' #4
Some of those plants look really happy and healthy. Was this in the middle of a water change?

____

I will check out your other project so I know what you are meaning about your kessil lighting.
