That is cool method. Do you have business in South East Asia?
So without a skimmer, where will the bacteria go after comsuming nitrate, phosphate and carbon?
I am confused because on your website, you still recommend skimmer as a must.

Thanks.

I don't keep track of the distribution. I sourced it out to dvhimport in groningen. I like to focus on the fun/challenging subjects of experimenting, developing and the social aspect of this hobby.
The powerfilter is a powerfull export mechanism if the DSR system. Www.DSRreefing.com/powerfilter

The DSR method is about Advancing insight, i try to push boudaries and still be succesfull. It seems i do it all he time. Now i am in the proces of sharing the latest innovations. After a while i will update the website to make it more of a "standard procedure".

Glenn, your tanks always look so healthy. :)

I’m curious if you’re still targeting the same Phosphate and Nitrate values as you were 10 years ago?

What are your target values today? I was recently watching that video with Ed Wiser.

Even the best reefers sometimes make silly mistakes.
But even then, there is no reason to cry, they are beautiful decorative pieces.

Every now and then reefers ask me why i don't incorporate certain elements in my system like other (brand)systems do...i.e. fluor, bromide, lithium, molybdate, barium, vanadium, ribudium, silicate etc...

When i designed my own salt mixture (https://dsrreefing.com/CRScalc) i wanted this only to include element which have been proven to be usefull. From all of above mentioned elements i haven't found a single prove that they were essential to the health of the corals. Most of them are even harmfull or caused stress to corals when overdosed, so why risk that?
Besides that many of those element are introduced with food.
Back than (2011-2012) there were many problems with inconsistant salt batches which even causes systems to crash. Because i wanted to be self-reliant and didn't care much for inconsitancies, a reset with this salt was perfect for me and laid the foundation for years of succesfull reefkeeping. After this simplified salt formula had proven to work just fine i designed several succesfull dosing systems around it.
Now, more that a decade and many succesfull tanks later still the basic design/method works just fine.
So you may say it's different way of looking at things and a different reefing method than most believe to be working with.

So you may say being self-reliant is one of the key principles what makes the DSR method what it is.
