By the side, do you mean each of the short sides? If so, definitely grow. Glow would not blend well. If the long sides, either is fine. Glow for pop, grow for any other purpose.

Ahhh Okok. One more thing, as supplementary lights. Is 4 feet enough?

I went with the Grows your main lights have enough blue. I wanted my fills to Grow my corals. I have only had them for about a month and I love them. And they can be much brighter than you would think.

I much prefer the Glow over the Grow if adding to other lighting. I run 1 Glow in the middle of my XR15 Pros. It adds some nice PAR and allows more whites to be run from the Radions if I want

The 57” over a 72” tank is barely enough BTW

I added one of each “Glow” and “Grow” in the 57” lengths. Really happy with them so far. Think it depends on what spectrum you’re looking for to pick one or the other.

I have not used a Blade.

For LED bars, I would not recommend a fixture much shorter than the length of the tank. A 5 foot T5 bulb (or even a 4' one) will fill toward the end of a 6 foot tank. But LEDs drop off on the edges, drastically.

Depends on the LED bar/fixture

What 4 foot bar would you put on a 6 foot tank that wouldn't drastically drop off at the ends?

You could push a Blade or ReefBrite if you really wanted but not ideal. Just as a 4 foot T5 is not ideal for a 6 foot tank. T5s don’t have good spread side to side. Especially since the last inch or two of each bulb produces little to no light. Your claim was a 4 foot T5 could cover a 6 foot tank and that’s false.

A 60” LED bar from almost any maker will easily cover a 72” tank. The 57” Blade will cover a 72” tank.

My claim was that a fluorescent bulb will spread more than what an LED bar will. I don't think that's debatable. I would not put a 4' LED bar on a 6' tank. A 5' bar is obviously better.

I'll leave you to it. I know you love AI Blades ;)

The spread of the LED bar comes down to the reflectors or optics used. Hence why I said it depends on the LED

I’ve tested and ran my fair share of LEDs and certainly did more than enough with T5s to understand how they work :grinning-squinting-face:

Grow but as an option, you can add light bars such as Reefbrite XHO OR Orphek OR3 Sky Blue or Blue plus
