I get this daily digest and was immediately drawn to this article.

Its very timely as I just received my Seneye Reef for my new build...and it made me stop to wonder, I wonder what sort of device it was that was hacked...but a lot of our devices are connected to make it easier to run our tanks...but I personally hadn't thought about the security of those devices!!

Yup - what @hijinks7 mentioned. With the boom of Internet of Things or smart homes the amount of stuff being exposed is mind boggling.

If it is online it isn't secure. I work in IT and 100% believe that EVERYTHING can be hacked. If man created it, man can destroy it (well in this case hack it!).

ALL it takes is for the right group (or individual) to WANT to attack something and it is going down, no ifs, ands, buts, or maybes.

I agree with this. I take the necessary precautions to keep the bots and obvious attacks at bay but I know if someone/group specifically goes after me there isn't much I can do.
