I’ve had this hammer for 5 months no issues then about 3 weeks ago closed up. It’s has stayed closed and will not fully open. I dipped it and it shed some skin from the head once put in dip. Here is how it stays all day and night

did you dip in bayers or seachem for flatworms? they have been going around as of late for some reason. hard to tell though given the pic. What are tank parameters, lights, rodi water tds? Just some stuff that could help diagnose the issue

I used brightwell koralMD. This is my first hammer and always dip coral for pest. My LFS said to dip it and see how it responds. When I dipped it some brown slim came out of heads.

never used koralmd before. Dont know if you did but just adding, always shake the euphyllia a bit first so it deflated before dipping, break off from frag plug, and scrub with a small toothbrush as well to make sure there are no eggs from anything leftover. Then glue to a new plug.

Grainy photo but it may be brown jelly disease, look that up and see if it fits. But again do you know the parameters, and tds of rodi water as well? Also how large is the tank, kessil a80s are nice but not too powerful though i dont expect the lighting to be the problem here at all. You could dim them a bit for a while because they are definitely more powerful than the coralife one

It’s probably too late, it looks like brown jelly disease (bjd). The only thing I’ve ever heard of working is Cipro treatment. It’s worth a shot, but it doesn’t look like it has much time left. I’d be surprised if it survives unfortunately.

My LFS checked parameters last week said everything good for a 29 gallon. I only use saltwater and rodi water from them. I’m worried due to I have two other large hammers in same tank.

I’d get Cipro and treat the tank, there’s a thread on here for how to do it. Bjd is a bacterial infection. It won’t show up on normal testing.

Also noticed my torch is not as open as when I got it. Only new thing I’ve added to tank is polyfilter pad to hob filter.
