My skimmer is pulling out some proper black poop at the moment!!

Something is/has happened to my tank in the last week or so. The skimmer is pulling out real black crud, the no3 has dropped back down to 5 and I've had to double my dosing of alk, ca and even start dosing mg.

I can only put it down to:
1. the siporax starting to work (hence the no3 drop and skimmer efficiency)
2. coral growth now that the tank has settled down

Unfortunately I had to shut my tank down after we moved house, but I’m hoping to start again soon with a much bigger tank now that we’ve got room. Considering a REEFER Peninsula, but don’t like how tall the cabinets are [emoji848]

It might be a while, but at least it gives me time to plan - I’ve got big plans this time! Nothing will be rushed and everything will installed right from the start.

We go away a bit at weekends, so I’m going to get full Neptune Apex to allow me to control and monitor things like ATO, feeding and compatible lights and skimmer etc. Don’t fancy customising the reefer stand, it will impact the warranty no doubt - I think I might get Wharf Aquatics to build me a customer tank that fits with our furniture and has a pelmet to stop my little boy throwing stuff in etc. [emoji1303] How’s your tank coming along?
