Welcome from tropical Alaska (Mat-Su) :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

There are a few reefers from the FB area I've seen around here over the past year or so, not many updates as of late however.

And a decent handful of refers down in the ANC area.

How big of a reef are you running up north there?!

110G for now, mainly for frags. I found and disassembled a 14 1/2 foot x 4 1/2 foot x 2 foot high acrylic tank (plus 2 large sumps) a few years ago. I need to cut it up to a size that will fit inside my house without crashing through the floor when filled. Plus, if it fails that's almost a thousand gallons on the floor. I also have the precut pieces to make an 8-foot tank to make a 240G.

Yeah, many tried their hand at it and failed. I think they were inspired by Tanked, which leaves out the intricacies of the hobby. I only know of one trying to get back into SPS at the moment.

Wow! Looking forward to progress pics on that - you should definitely get a build thread going!

Hello and Welcome to R2R! How do you obtain your coral and aquatic life?
Due to long travel times we have to see what our only LFS (Petco) comes up with as far as fish. Unfortunately, they really don't properly take care of their tanks, so they have major "crops", for lack of a better term, of GHA, aiptasia and various colors of cyano, not to mention visible parasites on the fish.
