Title says it all. I’ll list my parameters but for the past week I’ve performed 30% water changes to lower Alk and I’ve been dosing Mg and Ca everyday slowly to raise them. Are these parameters related? It seems when I’ve added Mg, it raised the Alk from 13.0 to 14.2 dKH.
All my fish seem fine but my corals are dying. I lost a brand new torch and all my other corals are showing signs. I also dosed Mg this morning that should’ve raised it by 100pm but I saw no difference. Are my tests flawed? I’m using Sailfert for Mg and Alk. And I’m using API for Calcium.
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 10ppm
pH: 8.1
Salinity: 1.026
Calcium: 400 (it was 360 last week)
Alkalinity: 14.1dKH (it was 13.0 before I started dozing Mg and Ca)
Magnesium: 1200 (it was 1100 last week)
Phosphate: 0.05
Also my water is super cloudy now.
I’m dosing with SeaChem Reef Advantage Magnesium and Reef Seachem Calcium
