Oops, my text got deleted after adding pics.

Hmm.. the spots are darker than they look in the pics... I can try to get more if not clear...

Found these black spots on my clowns this morning. Hoping it Hyper Melanization... I did have to remove one of the RBTA's who wandered up to the overflow. He had part of his foot through the teeth... Hoping I ticked it of enough to sting the clowns..

@Humblefish ??

If they just started hanging in the nems then it could just be natural stings as they get used to it

And yes this is a family friendly forum not even #@ to sub swear words is allowed....:)

The nems entered my tank about 2-3 weeks ago... split about 2 weeks ago. It (they) started hosting my clowns on day 2... Is it normal for them to wait 2-3 weeks to sting them? Or could my removal of one from the overflow this morning cause the nem to sting?

(so glad it's not ich...) but now worrying about the clowns. Although I do think the "bruises" have already subsided a little... I think... might be the beer goggles playing tricks on me though....

I'm not sure as mine never showed signs of getting stung....maybe it depends on the nem....

It's definitely NOT black ich, and indeed appears to be hyper-melanization. As long as the clownfish are eating and behaving normally, I wouldn't worry about it.

thanks guys. the little clown has definitely gotten better, but the female has more 'bruises' now... previous one's gone or lighter, but new one's on different part of body... both eating well so far. should I be worried???
