I'm trying to find a DIY solution to use a tunze 6095 on 3/4 inch glass. Stock magnet holds in place, but it does wiggle side to side and slowly wiggles it's way down the glass. Paying about $80 for a tunze magnets is absolutely insane... And I have 2 pumps to fix.

Has anyone built their own magnet extension for the dry side?

Does anyone know if there are 2 magnets in the dry side, with reversed polar ends or just one large magnet? A 2 inch magnet on Amazon with 300 pounds pull is like $12, but I'm pretty sure there are 2 magnets in there and this wouldn't work.

Ok, I found a fix. Much much much cheaper than Tunze. I will never understand how Tunze can put out a great pump with competitive price and then handcuff you with a freaking magnet that's needed to actually use the pump, absolutely insane. Anyway, on to the fix.

The Tunze magnet does have 2 magnets, side by side and with opposite polar sides. I found 1.26 inch, round, black, and "waterproof" (please don't actually put them in your tank) magnets on Amazon. I put a stack of 3-4 magnets on one side and another stack with the reverse polar next to it. It holds great, I have one pump holding with 2 stacks of 4 and another with 2 stacks of 3, just to test how they do. Anyway, super easy fix, it looks fine, and most importantly it cost about $22 to outfit 2 pumps instead of $160. That right there shows you how bad Tunze is sticking it to you with their magnets. Hope this helps someone else out there, I love the 6095 and now it holds on my 3/4 inch glass.
