I guess I am slightly confused... If you are running a refugium light in the sump, green algae is not uncommon.

Call me crazy but that is the entire point of a sump and refugium. Way better to have it grow there than in the main tank. Plus your setup looks pretty new. I wouldn’t worry about it, just keep on cleaning it out. My refugium setup has been with me for almost 15 years. I still get green hair algae in it, but none in the display...

I think he means green hair algae in the display. It doesn't look there is a refugium right? If not I would rearrange a little and put one in the sump, it looks like you have plenty of room for it. You can do it with out silicone anything in place.

Do you have any light source at all in the sump area?
No I built a algae scrubber at first but the lights had the entire sump covered in algae it was my mistake I didnt have it setup correctly the grow lights went everywhere I've since pulled it out and will re install later

If just the sump is covered in algae I wouldn't worry about it. Just clean it up every now and then. My skimmer chamber is covered in green hair algae because my fuge light spills over. It's not a big deal, I just clean some of it off every now and then. I would rather it be there than the display.
