I'm going to be moving my current reef in to a larger tank, after that I'm going to convert my 180 tank to a fish only set up so I can have all the fish I can't have now. So, 180 gallons 6x2x2 and I'd like it to be relatively peaceful as my girlfriend hates to see fish get bullied. Let's see your suggestions!

Lots of (non reef safe) Wrasse options and dwarf angels come to mind, maybe a pair of designer clowns. Or a blue spotted puffer. You have a lot of options (for more then three fish) with that footprint.

You can still have a “peaceful” tank you just have to choose fish that are on the same level as far as size and temperament.

I'm hoping to move on from my reef also and maybe keep by reef with no fish and going for a 6x2x2 also:)

For me I'm hoping to stock mostly from my local water fish around sri Lankan.
My main thing is to get
4-5 smll to medium size schooling banner fish.
1 emporer anglefish
2-3 types of butterfly
1 blond neso
1 hippo tang.

sounds like a good plan.
I am doing the same with a 200/275 70x30x22
hopefully all peaceful. the plan is:
3-4 dwarfs angles
3 smaller butterflies
a few smaller wrasses
a smaller tang
maybe an emp. angel love watching them change.

all that said the emp. and naso prob. will out grow your tank. but as there local to your area I guess you could trade them out for young ones when that happens.

I don't imagine you'll get a lot of like responses, so it really will be what you like. I'll play but with a disclaimer, I have not researched the compatibility of my list as it's a "like these fish but tank too small or some other reason they are a no" list.

I'd do:
Pair of Watanabei Angels or a Blue Girdled Angel
Powder Brown or Purple Tang
Harlequin Tusk
Latticed Butterflyfish
Lyretail Wrasse
Newton's Wrasse
Yellowchest Twist Wrasse
Melanurus Wrasse
Black Cap Basslet

Foxface or a type of rabbitfish is a must in a big FOWLR. Big Sea Puppies who will take care of nuisance algae in your tank.
