Good morning all...

Can anyone help me to identify the translucent shadow hair algea that is growing under my live rock? It seems to prefer the shadows. It also appears to only be affected live rock that I got from a previous tank.

My parameters are good across the board. It's stayed at the current length for the last month to two months. I don't know if this is a helpful item to have in my tank or something that I need to start working towards eliminating.

Thank you in advance for any feedback.

I don’t recall ever seeing anything like this being reported as a problem. I know that doesn’t answer your question but I assume you wanted to know if this growth was important.

Thank you for the replies.

@Dan_P Yes. Just trying to determine if it is something to be concerned with. Seems harmless so far.

@Cthulukelele I am not dosing. Very simple setup at the moment. Canister filter and ~10% - ~20% water changes every 2 - 4 weeks. Parameters have remained consistent. I think a little too clean at this point since I added a few mushrooms. (The reported issue was present before introducing anything new)

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
