Hello! Just a newbie here.
Got my first LPS from a local reefer and the acan seems to have an algae growing on it.
I tried to remove it with a pinset but acan immediately hid from me as soon as i got close to it.
Does anyone have an idea on how i can remove the algae?

When the acan closes up does it take the algae with it? Algae only grows on dead skeleton so part of the acan flesh is already gone. I would try tweezers to get as much as you can and then use a q-tip and spot treat that little area with H2O2.

Yup. What I meant by it hid from me meant it took the algae with it and completely went inside. Like I have no algae left on my sight that I can tweezer it out lol. I'll try to take a photo soon.

Stick a q-tip with H2O2 in the hole and then rinse the frag in saltwater after a few minutes
Oh okay. So that part of the acan is already gone huh? so only option is spot treatment.
How is it able to move with the algae though? Just a curiosity.

This may be useful.

Thank you! I'll try to H2O2 it and see what happens :)
