Lower my KH? Iv been doing my water changes and everything is good except KH is inbetween 15-16(it was at 18), any help is appreciated.

dosen't mean much without mag and cal levels, what salt do you use?

Start using the diy two part system.

also what units are you measuring kH in?

I ended up taking my water to the LFS and he told me my Cal. was at 300 so i started dosing and now my Kh is at 12 and lowering. I havent checked my Mag since i started dosing, but it was at 1100. Ill test again tonight and post what i get. Thanks for your replies.

calcium and kh are opposites in a way... up goes up and one drops.. another way to lower alk i heard was vinegar.. dont quote me on that but i think some people use that with they're kalk reactors to balance the ph and alk.. or maybe it was just ph... i forgot..

correction: just looked it up and vinegar is used to lower ph.. but on the same thread the guy just dripped calcium and it lowered it...
