How long can you go?

I work from home and it’s extremely hard not to check my tank every 10 minutes or so..it’s not a bad thing but I’m checking for growth in sps like every 5 minutes haha! I’m sure my frags are getting bigger, but I don’t notice it!

So I was like, let me challenge myself and see if I can not look at my tank for a week! Now aside from necessary stuff like feeding fish, filling ato etc. I’m going to try and not look at my corals for one whole week!

This may be easier for me than some because I have all the monitoring tools, Apex, Trident, Dos etc. and those things I will of course monitor. But I thought this would be fun and a way for me to get a break from my corals to see if they are changing!

I would love for anyone to tag along and see how long you can go! Answer the poll and make a post of how long you went and why you HAD to look! And then of course post a picture of your tank so we can look too! Haha!

I agree is crazy, I love my tank too and it’s literally looking at me right now! But I have to let it grow up! And water don’t boil if you let it go, and it comes back to you, it’s true love! Or something like that!

I have five tanks, (6 with QT running) and there is usually something that needs attention at any given point during the day. That said, if I have to be away longer than work hours in one day, I at least peek on my camera and Apex Fusion to make sure things can wait until I get home. For instance, right now my fowlr tank is calling me to clean the glass. Tomorrow, I swear!

My wife used to wonder why I go all the way down to the basement to use the bathroom. That’s where the tank is so it just gives me two more reasons to check it out. Once on my way in and once on my way back.

I look at watch this tank at least an hour a day, at least. Close inspections of nearly every inch. I look at coral growth, algea growth/recession, the fish, inverts, and to be honest I love watching the pods. Once I figure out the IP camera and filters I need to view it from anywhere, I'll be completely worthless in the work place.

I spend about 5 minutes a day looking in on this one. But it's pretty much hit it's stride. Now I'm just waiting for the SPS vs LPS shootout/fued. I suspect that either the favite or cyphestrea win. So I guess I'm putting my money a LPS win and a side bet on a tank full of Christmas Favia. However, the digitata has grown up tall and started to table and branch out over the Xmas favia, shading it and slowing it's assault. So maybe the monti digitata wins.
