How long does it take for you perform a Water Change on your reef aquarium?

About a half hour per 30 gallons changed. But 120 gallons total water changed a month for all tanks. I use two brute trash cans on wheels with pumps inside. One clean, one dirty.

Just changing the water - about 25 min for 40gal change on my 150gallon (225 total vol.)
But it's never just changing the water. I'll clean a bunch of stuff, feed corals heavy before hand, maybe move things around.

Not long, 10 minutes maybe. The worst part of it is forgetting I switched the RODI on to fill up the bucket and then remembering well past the point of overflow.

120 Gallon, 45 minutes, for 24 gallons of water. Includes Removing the Three Glass Tops, and cleaning them. Going over the inside glass with a hand scrub pad. 10 minutes to refill the Brute Container with stored RO/DI Water, and add my first salt. Then Five minutes, two or three times to bring the Salinity up in the Brute. I add salt slowly to cut down on mineral precipitation.

35 min in my 165 gal reef, and 60-75 min in my 240 FOWLR. But I don’t change out very much water each time.

It’s not the water change that takes time. It’s the cleaning and scrubbing.

Super impressed with all the automated water change buildouts… my skill level does not compare so I am left to continue with manual changes until I am able to set up a basement fish room. I do 20 gallon water changes for my big tank every 6-8 weeks. Takes me about 15 minutes to mix a batch of saltwater and I like letting it mix overnight and about 15-20 minutes to do the actual change.
