Dang! That's one ANGRY fish!Eat way I have found is to drain the tank down. I just moved my large lion as well and drained it down to where the upper spines had to lay down. Then use a small container to scoop him out. I use a critter keeper from petco. You can use a large net, but you take the chance of the spines getting caught.
If you corner him in a full tank, be prepared for him to flare his spines at you. This will be head down spines pointed at you. Also they are quick and will jump. Draining takes away the jumping aspect.
