Mushroom has decided to slide off it's plug that I've had sitting in the sand bed while cuc clears up space on the rocks for it. See pic and title of post. Thank you!
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

P.S. same thing happened to me with a very small ricordea and I tried to glue it back to the plug and it just came off two more times, second time getting lost in the rock cave.

P.P.S. I read in one post that rubber bands might work.

If I ever have a mushroom come off it’s rock I put them in a small shroom basket with rumble completely covering the bottom and leave them in a place where current doesn’t blow them out of the basket . I can take a while for them to reattach naturally but I never glue them .

If it’s moving off it’s plug then it’s doesn’t necessarily like the location that it’s in. It might have a tiny bit too much light. I had a Yuma move a total of 4” just to get a little shade; since then it hasn’t moved.

They are an absolute pain to try to glue back to something, the above mentioned mushroom cage idea is your best bet.

Yup, rubber band. Glue don't work on them cuz they slime up.
Mushrooms can and will move or let go of they want to. Maybe the flow is to strong where you want them?they always did well for me in a front corner of the tank when I kept them. Less flow, easy light.

Thanks everyone, made a makeshift basket and the shroom was still slightly attached to the plug and seems to have expanded over the plug again. Maybe didn't like the spot or the flow in that spot.

I wrapped some netting around the mushroom and the rock I wanted it on, left it for a week and then it stayed out once I took the netting off.

It should not be glued to a plug to begin with. Place in a container of rubble and it will adhere to it. I place mine in cavities

I'm planning to do the opposite. How do I get them all to let go so I can attempt to round them up in one place. They were all nice in one spot for years, looked awesome. Now they are just all over the place, of course nudging up to other corals and stealing light from them. I'd like to round em all up and chuck them into sometthing with some rocks and hopefully they all group up and attach somewhere close to one another.

Completely unrelated, but I'll be trying to liberate some zoas from my back wall of my old tank as well and attach them to something new. Any advice would be super helpful!!

I have a great method of getting mushrooms to attach to rubble rock or frag plugs.
I take 2 2oz plastic cups, cut the bottom out of one of them. Add your rubble rock or frag plug to the other cup. Super glue the 2 cups together so the cut end is faced up. Next take a frag plug stem and glue that to the under side of the bottom cup.
This works great becasie it prevents the shroom from blowing around and out of the cup, it allows you to set it on any frag rack and will naturally give the shroom time to attach itself. I give them a week or 2 and they are alway attached well to the rock. I then just take that rock piece and glue it to a frag plug or right to my rock scape. See photos.
