Hydor Koralia 5 pulse 3 times then quit

Hello all,

Why in the world do my hydor do this? I cleaned it out (still going to try soaking in vinegar) and it still does it.

I've had a few of them do this over the years and I can't get them to stop. You unplug then plug it back in and it's a 3 pulse movement from propeller and then it dies.

I'm sure it means something but I can't find anything online, at least not any explanations, just that I'm not the only one that has experienced this.

Found On Reef Dead?

AC pumps typically have a toothed device on the impeller shaft that forces it to only turn in one direction. I'd check those gears to see if they are worn and leaving the impeller in a dead spot.

Ive had same happen with 2 of mine. No matter what i do they wont work other than the 3 pulse. And its always after cleaning them. No idea what the deuce! Only thing i can think of is i use hot water to clean things. Maybe something inside the prop housing doesnt like it and jams. But thats just a theory...
