My hydra 52s with the director are showing up today. They are going above a 4x2x2 120g tank. This tank will be very SPS heavy and im curious to see what settings or program people are using to get good color and growth from their SPS.

I get good color from my SPS by ramping UV + Blue to 75% CW halfway through the day.

I have a 96 x 24 x 36 (tall) I have my 52's with RB, DB, and Violet at 70% and white and UV at 55. But I am still working on a good color setting, my target is BL's at 90% and Whites 60 to 70%. Just wish I knew someone with a tall tank and 52's to compare.

Use acclimation mode and start slow and ramp up slowly! We don't need another thread of someone who burned their corals by moving to quickly with LEDs wondering why they are having problems and then saying LEDs are bad and switching them back out! LEDs are very powerful and corals do not t like a different light pattern every single day so don't play with them often or at all

settled on some settings after looking at a few others on the net.

100% blues
20% CW for 1 hr 70%CW for 2 hours, 50% CW for 4 hours
10% R and G for 2 hours 30% for 5 hours
100% violet for 6 hours
20% UV for 5 hours 100% for 2 hours.
1Hr ramp between all changes

i modeled these off of Roberto_lopes and his SPS tank in brazil
i will take a picture of my director page if i can ever get the thing to stay in contact with my router

I upgraded from a vega to the hydra 52, was a pretty simple upgrade that only took 15-20 mins. Reading back through the thread, I'm using a much lower intensity than most. Ran my Vegas for almost 2 years so my reef is used to LEDs. Hydra's have been on about a month I guess.

Peak values are:
UV - 35%
V - 35%
DB - 50%
RB - 45%
G - 17%
R - 7%
CW - 10%

To me it looks quite like a 20k Phoenix bulb. I also have it running a 30% acclimation for 3 months just to make sure I go slow.

Here's a link to my light file if anyone wants to try it https://www.dropbox.com/s/8gg3rbwnj2wjo3y/52 ver 2.aip?dl=0

Screenshot

Edit:
Added a couple recent pics to show colors.

I have the same tank footprint, 4x2x2 and while not 52s I am running 26s so it's not exactly what you have, but not too far off. I have 4 of them over my tank and I ramp them up to run 85% all channels for 1.5hr, after that the center 2 units keep the blues with UV at 85% until 4pm when they ramp down. Hard to explain but in my build thread near the end I think. Keep in mind 2 hydra 26s are stronger than 1 52 according to AI as they drive the LEDs harder.

Looking for a decent setting for my 90 cube. Coming from leds already. I'm using 1 hydra 52 it seems to cover the tank with no issues. This picture is just on a stock setting till my ai director shows up. What's a recommended ramping time. They seem to be so different from one another I've read 30 min up to 4 hours. Has me a little confused. Trying to get as much research done before the director shows up and I start getting into programming. Thanks.

Where did you get the director? I've looked everywhere and can't find one.

Hello, my name is Vivienne, from Langley.
Impressive photos!
I would like to adapt your lighting scheme for my new tank - saw your Photobucket, as well as this post.
I have a new 90 gallon with 2 Hydra 52s, but my coral is not doing as well since the up-size.
Previously had a 36 with one Hydra 52.
Can you help me with figuring out the correct adaptation (would it be basically double the strength?), including the 24 hour cycle.
I would really appreciate your help.
