I dose Afr automatically. I hand dose Acropower about 1-3 times a week. Red sea iodine about 2 times a week - I have a lot of softies, gorgonians, and zoas. Just bough AF Growth boost; we'll see if I notice much.

2 Part ESV - dosed throughout the day
KZ Flat Worm Stop - Every day
KZ Coral Booster - Every other day
Drop of Lugols almost daily
ATI Elements as needed per monthly ATI ICP test

I also do small half gallon AWC daily using Tropic Marin pro salt.
I feel this is all that is needed. Also I have seen tanks with calcium reactor and nothing else.

I have a 20GH with four soft corals and two hard corals. I dose the part a and b three time a week, and one drop of the strontium every day. I kept the lights out for the first four months while stocking fish and CUC. I started dosing to keep calcium at 460ppm once I cut the lights on. The rocks are now completely covered with green carolline algae after just two moths. The corals have been added in the last two weeks. I only check nitrate, phosphate, and calcium. I refuse to go nuts chasing alkalinity and PH. All the corals are doing fine. They are happy and inflated. if I put a coral in that cant hang with the current parameters, then out it will go. What do you all think about the drop of strontium every day?

This is my question….if I’m told not to add anything I can’t test for, and I can’t test for trace elements, why does a lot of people dose them? Is it possible to OD the tank on them?
If you are doing water changes there really is no need to dose trace elements. Plus, like you said, you don't know what your tank is using (or isn't using). Water changes keeps everything in balance.

In dosing the kalk has your ph gone high? I had to cut back on the mix to top off ratio
Ca - Calcium in the Periodic Table
Alk - Alkalinity
Mg - Magnesium in the Periodic Table
^^all brs “two” part. Why Magnesium doesn’t get the love I’ll never know.

I’ve not had the load to use kalkwasser before, but yes, your pH can run high with too much of any alk supplement, 2-part, calcium reactor, kalk, etc. Cutback in the ratio is good, can you use a separate ATO and/or line without kalk when the ph is too high? Spread the ato period out over a longer period?
