i have a spiny box puffer in qt looks infested and copper in not working on him

i have a spiny box puffer who look s really bad compared to the clown fish and lion fish i have in qt to he loooks to mave a lot of white spots that just showed up this morning like crazy i am dosing copper safe by mardel and he's been doing good for around 2 months in it now all of the sudden he's infested again i'm testing with seachem coppper test kit and api copper test kit i'm looking to get 1.5ppm to 2.0 ppm since chelates copper needs to be at a higher level the seachem copper test kit only goes to 1.0 and i can't seem to get a good therapeutic level because he looks infested in just on day lion fish and clown fish look way better and barely have any ich on them idk what to do i'll send some pictures of the test

Fish is quite thin.
coppersage can be dosed at 2.25-2.5 safely but assure you don’t have elevated ammonia in the tank
Pics are fuzzy but are you sure ich and not velvet?
How is its breathing rate and I assume not feeding?

i had a small blue blue hippo tang that was doing good for months and all of the sudden it was infested yesterday just like the puffer and this morning when i turned the lights on she passed away ammonia at 0 nitrite at 0 tanks been running for over a year and half and been doing big water changes and testing copper regularly api test kit looks to be around 1.5 ppm and seachem looks to be 1.0 ppm should i do another water change or dose again i don't know seems he's getting worst yesterday he stopped eating so that a alarm he would eat every day and looks so happy i fed squid krill mussels and he even ate flake foood i don't understand why the copper not working

not velvet nothing was added and they would of all been been dead within the first 2 days they been here for over 2 months without any issues so not velvet i dealt with velvet and within b was dead in a day or 2 these guys been good for months so that no on the list

it's ick i'm just seeing that copper not doing nothing to the puffer and the lion fish and clownfish look to barely have 2 dots on ther fins and looks very healthy and the puffer not. i order the hanna copper test kit it's coming tomorrow but i don't want anything to happen to my puffer what's going on copper seeem to be working on them 2 but not the puffer that's weird i'll dose a little bit more to get it up there 2.5 ppm i'm just so confused it's not working on him but it's working for the clown fish and lion fish so confused! i need the hanna copper test kit asap

lion fish and clown fish pics they looks good i'm so confused what the **** is it there immune systems i just been having these guys forever in the big 100 gallons now all of the sudden i lost my hippo tang and puffer looks really bad all this happened yesterday and today before that they were always eating and never had any issues with white spots all over his finds face eyes this is a big issue i been slowly ramping up the copper levels but if you know what's going one or any help would be appreciated

i did a water change yesterday when i saw the ich pop
up on the blue tang then dosed copper safe i'm going to do a another 5 gallon water change just to see if it helps i don't think so though this sucks anybody know what's going on???

i got the puffer close to 2 months ago in feb 7 and he been doing good eve try day since now he's not any body got a hanna checker in co springs i'm getting a bad feeling these test outs are trash they been working though for 2 months like come on give me a break

he's not thin this guys was eating everyday like 8 pieces of krill then squid then mussel he wou of eat everything he would steal food from the lion fish just yesterday he stopped eating that worries me since he's a fat guy his favorite thing to do was to eat he would even stare at me till i fed him he even go bigger since i got him not thin just how he looks everyday unles he puffs up

All copper is toxic to pufferfish. You are killing him. Let me go see what they usually do for them. All he needs to be in a tank by himself and you need to try to feed him clam on half shell , shrimp. This has to be ich not velvet as they all would be dead by the end of the day. Our puffer got one case of ich. I bottle a bottle of garlic and soaked her food in it for a week. Never has gotten ich again. You have to boost their foods with selcon and vitamins.

Keep in mind eels and puffers do not handle treatment well. With this much ich you do have to try ( do hyposalinity). Hope it makes it.

Would hyposalinity be better to start with on this fish? Get the things off. We have a Green spotted puffer converted to marine. They are a brackish puffer. Puffers often go into waters with more salt, less salt. If it was me I would work on getting the suckers off and getting this animal to eat I vote put him into hyposalinity. Drip bucket, air stone, heater, little filter like a box filter, good to go. A lot of people poo poo garlic. The stuffs a dam miracle. The treatments weaken fish. You hear people who quarantined to death and still have ich. It is about their nutrition and immunity systems. That is what you have to work on. It is a cute little guy. Hope you can save him.

The history on our puffer is she ended up in a Walmart eight years ago when they sold fish. Walmart no longer sells fish. My son saw her and had to have her. I read up on how they could be converted to marine, so I started the drip acclimation to marine slowly. As she went from fresh to marine she became covered in freshwater ich, her skin was holding all this ich. In less than a day they popped and died. They can not tolerate marine salt. That was fun to watch. This little guy the same thing would happen, they can not tolerate freshwater at a certain level.
