Identifying small white “tree-like” thing…

Hello, long time reader, first time posting.

Can anyone identify what these things are on my rock? They’re pretty small, maybe 3/16” tall.

Are they ok to leave, or a nuisance?

Yeah, I haven't narrowed down the exact variety yet, but they're hydroids, most likely from the suborder Capitata - they might be an Asyncoryne species, but I need to do some more reading up on the families in the suborder to say for sure.

Thank you all for the information! I’ll do some reading and see if I can identify the variety of hydroid. I appreciate it! Are they something I need to worry about eventually overtaking my tank, or not really an issue? No corals in my tank yet. Tank is officially cycled and I’ve got a pair of clownfish introduced. Still researching corals I’d like to add.

Hydroids when receiving a food source will multiply. Some sting nearby corals as some wont.

Got it. I’m going to see if I can confidently identify the exact type I’ve got here. Ultimately, I’d rather play it safe and get rid of them, but if it ends up being a harmless variety, I wouldn’t mind keeping them around. Thank you again

I have them as well did not and do not know what species but they have been around for a year and really haven't spread. Don't like hearing about stinging I am following this for sure
