I have this clam that I got few weeks ago but it will not open up. Not sure if his happy. It is about 2+ inches. He opens a little but fish swim over him and he hides. Not sure if it the fish or water quality. This is an SPS tank so water is clean and maintained. Here is a picture let me know what you all think? I am new to clams. Second picture is a dresa, he looks okay.

On the sand is no good. Put it in a clam cradle or on a rock/ solid surface where it can attach.

It looks fine to me.

You can place a clam puck or even a frag disc under it use coral 2 part puddy around it it will keep it a the desired angle along with protecting it’s vulnerable bottom side

I recently got a clam. Put him on a shell found at the beach.
They react to shadows, mine was pretty jumpy at 1st, but calmed down after a week or so.
