Are they a separate species from the regular orange ones with white stripes? Or are they just a color morph? Will a black one pair up with the regular orange one?

My LFS gets the black ones in (Captive Bred) at slightly larger sizes than the orange one so the black one will most likely end up the female.

It would be a “color morph” of the species.
Similar to “Picasso” etc, same genus, same species, just a mutation that causes a variation in color.

Or are you asking more specifically if it is a percula or ocellaris ?

As Lasse pointed out, there are other species of clownfish that come in a black variation. But most likely they are indeed ocellaris. Unless their body structure looks completely different, then I would ask for a photo to identify.

As Mattie said, they can come in many different colors. Hope this helps.

Yeah it's most likely an ocellaris. I have a "black" clownfish like you described paired with a normal ocellaris and they don't seem to know the difference.

Simply a brunette version of the redhead. I'm semi color blind, so looks red to me.
