Hello Everyone!
As the title states, I (who has never had a pet before) decided to pull the trigger, and start a little reef tank! One of the reasons this was possible was because of all the info I was able to google up, most of which was on this website! So here I am joining the very forum I had been lurking on! I am really new to this all, so I apologize if I am posting this in the wrong place, or breaking some rules...
Today is my tanks 17th day of life!
Progress pics are all on my instagram @nanoreef1zero

- 5 gal water jug (to buy pre-mix sat water)
- 2 gal water jug (to buy RODI water)
- Revive coral dip
- Refractometer
- Frozen Mysis Shrimp
- Metal Tongues
Water Parameters:
- Salinity 1.024
(I actually don't test my parameters right now... considering the $60 red sea test kit...)
Tank Care Routine:
- 7.5% water change every 3 days (I just pull off my HOB filter and clean the sponge/replace the water)
- Fresh water (RODI) top off once in the morning, once at night.
- Feed my Fire Goby/Cleaner Shrimp Mysis daily.
- Feed my corals Mysis right before each water change (every 3 days)
- Bother my local reef shops for information every few days... lol (Reef Lounge USA, Amazing Aquariums and Corals)
- Fix the corals Speedy the Turbo Snail knocks over... a lot...
Please let me know what you think! I am always looking for comments, advice, and suggestions!
Best Regards,
Nanoreef1zero
