I'm getting either the Eshopps Deskmate 5G or the Waterbox 10 G as a coral quarantine for easy SPS:
  • Pocillopora (Cauliflower)
  • Seriatopora (Bird's nest)
  • Stylophora (Cat's Paw)
  • Montipora Digitata (Finger)
  • Acropora Yongei (Bali Green Slimer)
Do I need a a Kessil A160WE 40w, or can I get away with a Kessil A80 15w to quarantine these corals for 76 days?

I'd love to get a different fixture, but kessils are the only ones that have a knob to change the spectrum on the fly from totally blue to white.
The QT tank is near my desk, so I can't use white light all the time (I did that already, it blinded me).
But I am going to need to change the spectrum from totally blue to white, each time I inspect the corals in QT.

Another thing is that Kessil A80 and A160we are quiet, which is essential on my desk.

I would be more worried about keeping the parameters stable with that small of a tank. Light should be fine.

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
