Currently filling a 5 gallon bucket every 3 days to drip Kalk
Getting tired of refilling so often, and I have a 44gal brute laying around. Anything special need to be done to maintain Kalk in that capacity for ~20 days at a time?

Worried about losing potency and CO2 mixing in. Welcome any tips from those with experience.

I mix mine in a 30 brute. I just keep the lid on. Haven’t noticed any ill effects of storing it long term. I’ve seen people cut a large piece of styrofoam and float it on the surface to avoid contact with the air.

Was thinking styrofoam as well, appreciate the feedback.

Do you just mix and store or periodically stir / have a power head?

I just mix it once to full saturation (I’m guessing) and let it settle. Then I dose that. It lasts me about 3 to 4 weeks.

You could use a power head as well. Are you planning on making a kalk slurry or letting it settle?

Just a lid on the Brute is adequate. The potency is steady for at least 21 days.
