Being that filtration is a huge part of reef success I figured it would be great to show off your filter system. No need in cleaning if up to be picture perfect. Lets see how they look while in regular use.
I think this will allow some of the newer and advanced hobbyist to get a better understanding and more ideas. A picture is worth a 1000 words!

man all I see are clean sumps. Mine is just now starting to look clean (I let all the gazillion snails that seem to have just appeared out of no where clean the sump). When I get a chance ill take a pic cause I gotta take pics of my Monti's yet.

well, that's not that far into up and running. the new pic i am going to take is going to be embarrassing for me :)

the chaeto that is in that pic is gone. the snail ran out of stuff on the glass, pump, skimmer, whatever, that he ate the chaeto (mexican turbos for ya). opened the door to find him hanging 2" off the sand bed by a string of chaeto he was eating :haha:

i got some more chaeto from Derek, and that handful has like completely overtaken the sump :D

Just "overhauled"drained sump and shop vac'd the BB sump, prefilters are a good thing. Have no sand and there was over 1/4 of crud on the enitr footprint of a 75gal tank.

Here's an older one of mine. I've expanded a little since this.

Pretty simple, 75gal tank, filter sock, superskimmer and a little tray of rubble I use for frags. Lighted by 2 houshold 6700k power saver bulbs.
