I know my floor is out about 1/2" where my tank is going because my current tank is in the same spot. It was a pain to shim and I never felt all that confident about the shims in general. I also dislike how they look, even after breaking them off.
Tank is 84" x 30" x 18" tall. Stand is 80/20. The plan was to add 8 heavy duty leveling feet using base plates, swivel foot thread and trapezoid base but the parts are close to $500 (Canadian), I don't really think it's worth it. The stand already cost $1500.
I have some questions -
1. How much harder on the floor is it to have all the weight of the tank on 8 feet?
2. If I attached sealed 3/4" plywood to the bottom of the stand (which I might anyways) would it work to use leveling feet designed for wood applications? I was thinking threaded inserts. Would the 3/4" thickness be enough for the weight of 200G of water?
3. If I did do this, would it make sense to try and use more than 8 feet to spread out the weight more?
Any advice would be helpful.
