What do you guys with 90gals have on your tank?? Would you do 2 250MH or 150MH?? I was thinking one 250MH and one 150MH as i am going to keep sps on one side and Lps on the other.

IMO you should just go wit 2-250w bulbs. I'm a big fan of Radiums, but I hear the Helios are good too.

I'm quite a bit anal retentive, so my take would be it would look off with the 2 different bulb outputs. Not only would they be different pars, but the colors would be difficult to match. IME, the 90 gal is deep enough to run 250s with more than happy LPS placed low in the system. For the extremely sensitive, the sandbed towards the side would be appropriate.

I use 6 overdriven T5's on mine. Works AWESOME for SPS, not so much for LPS though, I cook acans. :(

You could do 6 regular T5 and be just fine for a mixed reef. I went from 2x250W halide and a single 4ft VHO actinic to T5 about 2 years ago, and couldn't be happier.

If you are buying new halides, it seems like the Phoenix 14K are the HOT bulb at the moment. A pair of those, should light your 90 with no need for additional supplementation.

Why not T5?
