Long stringy and clumpy white discharge from female blue throat triggerfish

Hi everyone,
About 2 weeks after observing my blue throat trigger pair mating I noticed the female has a long white stringy discharge, it looks like a long line of tiny white beads.
Are those eggs or possibly a parasite?

I can't see any individual eggs, just mucus. But, I've seen seen a trigger spawn before.

I would say its mucus from a source of potential inflammation. I had this with a trigger (who was alone in the tank- so there was no spawning involved). This was a long time ago - and I believe I treated it with a parasite medication that was sold already made by the company (I do not believe it's available currently) . In any case - it went away. If you are not having any symptoms (weight loss, etc) - I might just watch. Does it come and go (i.e. fall off). @Lasse?

I too see mucus but from likely from type of foods fed and not inflammation. The typical signs with internal issue are not showing and it appears fish is still eating.
What foods are you feeding?

Except- you might be confusing what inflammation means. Foods can also cause inflammation. In other words - There is no way to know if this is a parasite (doubt) - or a food allergy - causing mucus release. Whenever you see mucus - its as a result of inflammation.

Working in medical myself, I know what inflammation is. With fish, I have never heard of food allergy and with internal parasites, normally the single cell hexamita version will feed often off the fish's food intake and signs will be pinched belly/thinning, loss of appetite, roundworms as examples.
In many cases, the mucus cells that create this are passing through the system without containing any food waste and will have this appearance and misdiagnosed as internal issue.

In many cases, the mucus cells that create this are passing through the system without containing any food waste and will have this appearance and misdiagnosed as internal issue.

Could also be a viral infection, a bacterial infection, a parasitic infection - or a reaction to something else - was all I was saying. without a sample - hard to say.

I feed a mix of foods:
-New life spectrum pellets
-Ocean nutrition formula 2 pellets
-Rod’s food herbivore formula frozen
-Spirulina brine shrimp frozen
-Hikari mega marine algae frozen
-San Francisco frozen brine shrimp frozen

Additives (added to frozen foods):
-Selcon
-Garlic Extreme
-Aquaforest Fish V

These foods are not consistent with high mucus not to say they cant produce mucus. For this type of trigger, consider adding Rods original formula and LRS chunky
