I'd suggest posting a new thread on this topic in the Equipment or main forums. :)

I use a ETC 800 gemini skimmer on an Iwaki 55RLT pump.
I supplement calcium and alkalinity via limewater (kalkwasser) ATO.
I also supplement iron and silicate.

I feed Rods food, Prime Reef cubes, and a powder zooplankton (Calanus).

The only way that I know of that good quality carbon (like the ROX) can harm corals is by too suddenly increasing the light and UV levels in the water from removing organics. But it might be totally unrelated.

I didn't change anything just the carbon use and biopellets started and some soft corals closed and scoly dying

Just grow it: Have you ever added CO2 to your reef tank?
