As the title suggests, I place 3 pieces of carib sea dry base rock into my 170 reef tank system. The magnesium reading before that was around 1450- 1480. Now it's shot up to about 1700 ppm. Anyone else notice this? Maybe because it's dense that the dolomite inside the rock is contributing to the high levels. Overtime, it will drop. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this especially setting up a tank full of dry rock and very little live rock.
