I've been searching and not finding any answer to what is the max ALK a person can dose at one given time. I have head a max raising of 1.4 dkh per day, but nothing about max at one given time or per hour.
I have a 55 gallon reef and I've been dosing ALK manually (for now) trying to maintain 9.5 dkh. I often see for example dkh is 9.1, and can't help but be tempted to dose 0.4 dkh all at once or breaking it up as few doses as possible to get it over with (0.2 dkh ; 2 hour later 0.2 dkh) ; in-general on a daily bases my temptation has me adding more than I think I should. Obviously it is preferable to spread it apart as much as possible, but I find myself breaking this for convenience. I don't want to discover one day I broke the limit and find corals or fish dead or sick. I have to wonder what is the max ALK I can dose at once and be fine?

I almost never create threads. thank you all. : ]

I don't like to go over 0.5 at a time. If I need to raise it a point, I wait several hours before dosing again. It might be handy to ask what bulk reef thinks in their customer support chat as they recommend no more than 1.4 a day (at least for soda ash).

PH monitor purchased. Never heard of a Kalk Wasser Dripper, researching now..
I will eventually get that doser, but i'm still trying to get the base line, one day need 0.8 dkh next day need 0.1 dkh. I am using the brs soda ash as mentioned from another person. Sometimes I worry it's more concentration on bottom. Your suggested tools will help me grab this bull by the horns, and finally get my valid base line.

My corals: BTA ; Candy Cane Coral; Favites Brain Coral ; Alveopora; Star Polyp;
All small frags (besides BTA) yet the alk dosing became necessary : /
Thank you all : - ]
