Im handy but need to really think hard

So right now run carbon and gfo in a bag in sump-essentially being in a reactor would be more beneficial-

1) media reactor can be kept out of sump setup? I dont have room in sump

2)my lfs was saying to just to t off from main pump piping to not have to add another pump

3)ok to mix carbon and gfo together in reactor

Any feedback appreciated

Get the deluxe reactor from brs, doesn’t need to go into the sump and runs off a small sicce pump that takes up minimal space. Yes you can run both together. I have never done it, but a little google search and I’m sure you will find the most popular method to run the two together.

1. Yes. You can get reactors that do not need to be in the sump.

2. If you are capable of some plumbing you can tee of the return. See pic below.

Yes you can run them in the same reactor. Best practice is 2 separate reactors to have more control over flow.

I used two of these on my last tank, and will be doing it again for my new one. these will be controlled from my return pump / manifold. no extra pumps in the sump.

Hence why i’d just say add a pump into sump as thst is the most straight forward way to my dumb mind

Good trouble: Have mushrooms ever become pests in your aquarium?
