Howdy all!
I am a LFS employee, have a degree in marine biology, and have have been working in the professional aquarium trade as a diver, now aquarist, for a few years.
Despite all that I am only now in the process of setting up my own marine tank.
My setup is as follows:
- 75gal marineland tank
- TopfinEheim professional 5e 700 canister filter
- Marineland Magnum micron filter
- Green killing machine AA24W UV filter
- Reef Octopus Classic 100-HOB skimmer
- Reef Breeders Photon V2+
- 2x Reef Breeders RP-M
- Some heater I don't know the name of, with an inkbird ITC-306A on the way
Also for livestock In the short-term I'll be keeping a variety of fish and corals, with a focus on interesting inverts, long-term I'm looking to improve my substrate to the point that I can keep seagrass, namely Halodule wrightii.
I bought the tank used with livestock from someone who really wanted to downsize and was having a cyanobacteria problem so once I deal with that we will be full steam ahead!
