What do people consider the 'best' of for the middle tier cost fairy wrasses? I would define them as being in the $100-200 range, but that said something like a C. lineatus is bit high and retails for $300+ here.

Basically I'm getting to the limit of pretty much one more wrasse, so trying to make it a good one, but not too crazy ;)

if you can find one, Katoi’s are surprisingly affordable...
which is shocking considering how gorgeous and rare they are

Pintail (c. isosceles) and Rhomboid (c. rhomboidalis)

Hooded (c. bathyphilus) or Flame (c. jordani) as great choices also

I've seen some particularly nice C. aurantidorsalis coming in lately that I've been tempted by if my budget wasn't as tight right now.

I second the pintail and labouts as well as excellent options.

I should add, it would be going in with a C. Lubbocki and C. cyanopleura. Now to see what's actually available up here, and at what price ;)

Wow, surprised to see C. rhomboidalis and C. laboutei included in this list. Males of both species are $300-350 on LA and in my locale. #ipaidtoomuch

Which means it would probably be $500 with the Canuck tax ;|

** Actually, time to make you wince. Male C. laboutei listed at $208.45 retail in Canadabucks, so like $160 USD. Tempting.., might have to go take a look at them.

I feel like I rarely see Hooded Wrasse anymore. Such a pretty fish though. I came in to recommend Flame Wrasse though, especially with the current state of collection in Hawaii.
